With bush sounds, instruments, music, movements, singing and dancing the children participate in the richness of Australia. Join in and learn all about the traditional owners of our land.

Discover some handmade Aboriginal items and how you use them. Visit the Torres Strait Islands and discover the Dari and enjoy some grass skirt dancing. Then parade about holding flags celebrating that we are all Australian.

All shows are performed by a fully qualified child care professional (Associate Dip Social Science, Child Studies, and Diploma of Children’s Services)

Jenny van Velze (Performer) is non-indigenous however has worked with an Aboriginal community on the Central Coast of Australia to bring this show to you. In this educational "Australia Show", the children will:

  Happy time for kids button   Find out about Australian instruments with a Lagerphone and washboard.   Happy time for kids button   Enjoy some outback singing and dancing.  
  Happy time for kids button Discover the traditional owners of the land. The boys will enjoy blowing the Didgeridoo while the girls cheer them on. Happy time for kids button Participate in a pretend Aboriginal hunting adventure, making the actions of bush animals.  
  Happy time for kids button Look at handmade Aboriginal items and how you use them. Happy time for kids button Dress up in a Torres Strait Island Dari (headpiece) and grass skirts to enjoy some traditional dancing.
